I love to wash clothes while I travel with Lucky Fiji Laundry Detergent Sheets! Here’s why:

  • Light and Compact – The sheets and packaging are minimal and packs down flat. You just bring what you need.
  • No Mess – The sheets cut out the concerns of mess with liquids and powders. You won’t have to worry when packing in a carryon bag.
  • Easy To Use – great for washing by hand in warm or cold water and can also be used in a washing machine if you have access to one.
  • Natural Ingredients – Made from safer and more natural ingredients. The light lavender and lemon scent comes from natural oils and has never been an issue for my allergies.

3 Steps To Easily Wash Clothes While Traveling:

Step 1 – Prepare To Wash

The first thing you will want to do is decide the appropriate size of the detergent sheet to use.

They come perforated down the center, but they are a very light spongy material that is easy to tear into any size you need!

For a just one to a few pieces of clothing I choose to use about 1/4th of a sheet.

After plugging and filling the sink or tub with an inch or two of water, I drop in the detergent sheet.

No matter if you use warm or cold water, the sheet will dissolve completely in about 5 seconds. It is really fun to watch!

Step 2 – Washing The Clothes

I then move around the clothing and get it completely wet in the soapy water.

To thoroughly wash the clothing, I squeeze the water through each item in a motion similar to kneading bread. Don’t pull or twist the clothing or it may affect the shape.

I do this until I see the water is dirty and the item is completely saturated with the soapy water.

Then it is time to rinse! I remove the plug and let the dirty water drain completely.

I turn on the water and rinse while continuing the kneading motion I used to wash the item. Continue rinsing until the water runs clear and there is no more soap visible.

Step 3 – Drying The Clothes

To help the clothes dry faster and to avoid misshaping the clothing items, I recommend following the following steps to dry each piece of clothing:

  1. Lay out a towel and lay one piece of clothing flat across the top of it
  2. If the towel is large enough, fold it in half to cover the top of the piece of clothing. If you’re using a smaller towel, like a hand towel, place a second one on top.
  3. Start on one end and begin rolling the towels up as tightly as you can while squeezing the water out of the clothing and into the towels
  4. Unroll the towels and remove the piece of clothing.
  5. Lay the item flat or hang to dry!

Believe me, this process really works well! Removing excess water will help the clothes dry quickly and be ready to wear again even faster.

Wash Out Travel Stains In Clothes With Laundry Detergent Sheets

These awesome detergent sheets also work well on stains!

All you have to do is get the piece of clothing very wet where the stain is, then tear off a piece of the detergent sheet and place it on top of the stain. The sheet should begin dissolving on the water.

Let it sit for a few minutes, then use the washing process above to rinse out the soap and remove the stain. Repeat if needed.

Stay Wrinkle Free

If you’re traveling for work and need to stay looking sharp, or maybe some of your favorite items are fabrics that get wrinkled easily – in either case, you’ll want to be prepared to manage any wrinkles that might show up.

Many hotels have irons in the rooms, but I personally prefer a steamer to remove wrinkles. At home I actually have a commercial steamer to use on my clothing and it is a breeze to use.

While on the go, I find that a compact mini-steamer makes staying wrinkle-free easy!

It easy tucks into the corner of my suitcase or carry-on, weighs almost nothing, and heats up fast. Just remember, when traveling outside of the US, you’ll need to use an adapter and converter!

Conclusion

I hope that you can use this simple process to help make your own travel experiences a little less stressful! Traveling with laundry detergent sheets is a smart and practical way to stay smelling and feeling great in your clothes while also allowing you to pack less. Of course, choosing quick drying clothing and travel-friendly fabrics will help make the washing and drying process even easier.

Now I want to hear from you – Do you usually wash your clothes while traveling? Would planning to wash your clothes help you feel like you could pack lighter?
