My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options in every park at Walt Disney World - Orlando, Florida!

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear Walt Disney World?

Is it Mickey Mouse? Maybe it is taking a ride on Space Mountain? In the past, those are what would have come to my mind right away too. Now the first thing I think of is:

AMAZING FOOD! Well, not just regular amazing food, but amazing allergy-friendly food!

You see, I have six food allergies. Yes, you read that right! I have to avoid gluten, dairy, eggs, oats, tomato and shellfish. As you can imagine, it gets tricky to find options at restaurants near home, let alone when traveling.

Even though I did my research before heading to Disney and heard there may be options, the reviews I usually read were from people with just one allergy. I am not saying that one allergy isn’t hard – it is! I am just saying that the more allergies, the more potential for complications.

As a result, once I arrived, I kept my expectations low to avoid disappointment but I can honestly say, I didn’t need to!

Nothing could have prepared me for just how accommodating the staff would be. Beyond just the staff, the food quality and taste also blew me away – they didn’t just offer plain chicken and rice!

Here’s what you need to know – every restaurant has lists showing which menu items contain the top allergens. You read that right – Every single one!

If you’re extra special like me and have an allergy NOT on the top allergens list (tomato) that means the chef will come talk to you in person and discuss your options.

Talk about the royal treatment!

Every single restaurant I went to brought out the chef for me to speak to directly, the chef then offered me options to meet my needs. Sometimes, the items they made for me weren’t even on the menu.

Mind. BLOWN.

I will say with 100% sincerity, I was not disappointed even one time at my experience eating at a Disney restaurant. I did not get sick, not even a little upset tummy!

Disney knows how to handle food allergies and I highly recommend you treat yourself to a trip there, no matter your age. You deserve to be treated like the prince or princess you are, and they can make that happen… at least when it comes to the food!

Okay, so I think you get the point. I LOVE DISNEY and I love even more that they take food allergies seriously and they want YOU to have a great time and eat GREAT food.

Just remember to make reservations in advance!

Now, how do you choose where to start?

Lucky for you, I share my very favorite places to eat at each of the Walt Disney World Parks!

Magic Kingdom:

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

Cosmic Ray’s is a quick service restaurant in Tomorrowland. When you go to the counter, tell them about your allergies and they can show you your options. For someone like me with a gluten allergy, they even give you your food on a different color tray to make sure it doesn’t get mixed up with anyone else’s meal.

Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

I had dinner one night at Skipper Canteen in Adventureland. They offered a unique menu with really fun flavors! I had vegan falafel and a sweet and sour pork, both were delicious and not all what I expected them to serve based on the name of the restaurant.

California Grill

California Grill is located in the Contemporary Resort. If you plan in advance, you can score a seat during dinner and see the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from your table like I did. I think the fireworks might actually make the food taste better! This was the only restaurant that offered me gluten free and vegan bread – it was so delicious!

Epcot:

Restaurant Marrakesh

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

While visiting the Morroccan area in Epcot, I stopped to eat at Restaurant Marrakesh. Aside from being incredibly beautiful inside, the chef was also able to prepare fresh mashed potatoes (gluten free and vegan!) for me to have with some perfectly seasoned chicken kabobs.

Spice Road Table

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

Right on the water in Epcot is the lovely restaurant, Spice Road Table. I enjoyed hummus with carrots for dipping, olives, and a lemony roasted chicken. From where I sat, I was also able to watch the fireworks which really added to the experience!

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

Everyone should experience a Disney Character Breakfast! I enjoyed a princess breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall – and yes, I took pictures with all of them! They give you SO much food. I was told what I could have from a buffet, and I was also given gluten free and vegan waffles as an added treat.

Hollywood Studios:

ABC Commissary

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

Although I didn’t spend long in Hollywood Studios, I did make it a point to make a stop at ABC Commissary for their gluten free, dairy free, egg free chicken tenders and french fries. They were absolutely perfect and completely worth the stop on the way to the Rockin’ Rollercoaster!

Animal Kingdom:

Sanaa

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

Sanaa is located in the resort at the Animal Kingdom, not technically in the park itself. The attention I received from the chef at Sanaa was second to none, she offered me six different dips I could have with gluten free and vegan naan bread. She also made me my very own dairy free tandoori chicken which was delectable!

Disney Springs:

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant=

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

All I have to say is – gluten free and vegan onion rings!! When I heard I could have not only fish and chips but also gluten free and vegan onion rings, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Seriously, the food here is absolutely perfect and their batter is so light and crispy. I couldn’t stop smiling while eating here!

Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC

My Favorite Allergy Friendly Restaurants At Walt Disney World - Delicious gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida!

If you have food allergies and have never visited an Erin McKenna’s Bakery you are totally missing out! Whenever I am in New York, Los Angeles, or Orlando, you better believe my first stop is here. The cookie sandwiches are out of this world, but in reality, every single thing they make is amazing!

I have many food sensitivities and I know travelling can be a pain unless you do some research in advance to find out local allergy friendly restaurants.
