Allergy-Friendly Eating In Copenhagen, Denmark - My guide to some of the best gluten free, dairy free, vegan and allergy-friendly restaurants and eateries in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In recent years, Copenhagen has become known as a foodie’s paradise! Yet, visiting Michelin star restaurants might still leave those of us with food allergies a bit hungry.

Luckily, Copenhagen has so much variety to offer! Everything from casual food stalls to high end steakhouses that can cater to your food allergies or intolerances with ease. Finding some of these delicious spots was my main goal when visiting Copenhagen.

One of the most exciting parts about the food in Copenhagen was the dedication to using the best ingredients. That meant organic vegetables and fruits and free range meats galore!

If you’re vegan, Copenhagen has plenty of options to offer you as well! The growing food scene seems to be leaning toward a more plant-based approach. Yay!

I found Copenhagen to be one of the most allergy-friendly destinations I have ever visited! I cannot wait for another visit to continue trying the delicious fare.

Below are some of my favorite allergy-friendly restaurants in Copenhagen:

Landbageriet

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Egg Free | Vegan Options

I believe I have a gift for finding the best gluten free and vegan bakeries around the world. Landbageriet is at the top of my list! The cinnamon roll I ate here was to die for. I was especially thankful because it took a bit of a walk to get down there. So worth it! Luckily it is not too far from Rosenborg Castle, which made it the perfect breakfast stop.

El Viejo Mexico

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Egg Free

I am a taco lover! No matter where I am in the world, I cannot get enough Mexican food. El Viejo Mexico is a really cute spot with great food and drinks. They were able to walk me through the options for what I could eat, which I really appreciated! Make sure to make a reservation as they do get quite busy.

Cock’s & Cows

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Egg Free | Vegan Options

Cock’s & Cows is a really cool spot to head for burgers – yes even gluten free and vegan burgers. The meat they offer is all free range, their veggies are all 100% organic! In addition, they offer gluten free buns, vegan burgers, and even vegan mayo! This was one of our favorite relaxed meals, and we could taste the high quality ingredients with every bite.

KoD Copenhagen

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Egg Free

Vegan friends, you will want to skip right over this one. For the meat lovers, KoD Copenhagen is a dream come true! They used the highest quality meats and prepared a meal for me that was gluten, dairy and egg free. On top of that, they also use my favorite large flake salt, which automatically gives them a higher rating in my book!

Reffen Food Market

Gluten Free | Dairy Free | Egg Free | Vegan Options

To be fair, I have not actually had the opportunity to visit the new Reffen Food Market yet! That said, I did visit the previous food stall market Papirøen. It was filled with delicious street foods and a huge variety of allergy-friendly food options. So, why am I mentioning Reffen Food Market? Well, I loved visiting Papirøen because of the wide variety of options. That meant that no matter the food allergy or intolerance, there was an option for everyone. Even though it has since been replaced with Reffen Food Market, it sounds as if the same idea will be true. It will be a paradise for all hungry travelers! To get there, hop on a boat near Nyhavn. It is located across the water on the island opposite from the Opera.

I hope these recommendations help you eat gluten free, dairy free and vegan during your time in Copenhagen! Do you have other favorite allergy-friendly restaurant recommendations? Share them with me below!
